Dorcas Thete is a Los Angeles–based art director and producer whose practice is rooted in visual storytelling, creative development, and cultural strategy. A Congolese American creative, her multidisciplinary experience spans music, fashion, entertainment, editorial, and brand campaigns, where she has developed concepts, established visual direction, led casting and talent strategy, and carried creative ideas from early development through production. Her practice is shaped by a foundation in fine art and acting, giving her a distinct perspective on creative expression and the ways ideas can be translated into compelling visual work.
She holds a BA Acting degree from Emerson College, bringing an interdisciplinary perspective to her work across art direction, creative production, and storytelling. Dorcas brings an end-to-end perspective to visual development. She has a discerning eye for aesthetics and an instinct for recognizing what gives an image or idea its particular character. Her approach is rooted in a fascination with juxtaposing creative expression and intellect, drawing connections between references, artistic disciplines, and the ideas shaping contemporary life. She is interested in building work that is visually precise while grounded in an in-depth perspective. She seeks to lead art direction at the intersection of fashion, music, and contemporary identity, collaborating with artists and brands to develop worlds from concept through execution.
